Well, as my own mother used to say, “If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would ever get done.” I guess procrastination is a family trait, because I also seem to require that extra adrenaline rush of the approaching deadline or the “last minute” in order to get tasks accomplished (like how I never clean my house faster than the 5 minutes before someone is coming over).
Although this year, I think we all have an excuse for letting Mother’s Day sneak up on us because no one has known what day it is in weeks.
Mother’s Day has been bittersweet for me the last few years because I lost my own mom four years ago. I used to dread the Mother’s Day commercials and everyone asking, “What are you doing for Mother’s Day?” I certainly didn’t want to think about buying gifts.
Over the past few years, I realized that Mother’s Day should be a day to celebrate all mothers, including those who have passed. They should continue to be remembered and honored.
I am a mom myself now to two wonderful kids, and there has been nothing in this world that has brought me more joy than being a mom. Although my kids are obviously the best “gifts” I could ever have, it is nice to be recognized for all that moms do. All moms deserve to be celebrated, and some thoughtful gifts are just one small way to do that.
This year, Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10th. So, if you haven’t gotten a gift yet, you still have time to order something from Amazon to get to Mom by Mother’s Day.
Now, since you have already waited until the last minute, I decided to save you some time and send you straight to the source for some inspiration and fabulous gift ideas for Mom. You are sure to find something on this list that Mom, Grandma, Aunt, or any other important woman in your life will love.

First off on the list is this one of those “it’s funny because it’s true” type of gifts. Make your other siblings jealous and let your mom remember that special bond the two of you share as she drinks her coffee every morning. There are lots of other funny mugs to choose from as well.
So for me personally, the only thing that I want on Mother’s Day is a gift card to the nail salon to get a pedicure. First of all, I love getting a pedicure. I mean, it’s so relaxing and then when you’re all done, your feet look so pretty! It’s also time spent bonding with a girlfriend and time away from the chaos and mess that is my house and family (whom I love, of course).
Now, unfortunately, we are unable to go to the Nail Salon right now. So, what’s the next best thing? This Premium Deluxe Bath and Body Natural Spa Gift Basket. The Gift Basket is packed full of goodies and includes Bubble Bath, Body Wash with Shea Butter, Hand Cream, Hair Replenish Shampoo, Aromatherapy Bath Salts, Bath Bombs, Body Mist, Hand-Poured Aromatherapy Candles, and more! I don’t know any woman who wouldn’t love to be gifted this amazing set of pampering products.
Bonus points: Now this is very important, if there are any men out there who give this to your wife, you’re gonna need to let her lock herself in the bathroom while you take care of the kids for an entire afternoon. No banging on the door, no yelling upstairs, “Where do we keep the..?” No! You let her soak in solitude and seek the peace she deserves. Then she will really adore this gift!
Okay, so the next gift idea is something that I can’t wait to try with my daughter. There is nothing that will melt a mom’s heart like having a matching mother daughter outfit (while the daughter still thinks that it’s cool). I especially love the, “Our First Mother’s Day” for new moms and babies, too! Check them out here.
Okay, so it seems like even those of us who had no interest in gardening prior to being quarantined, have now gained a new appreciation for his hobby. What better time to start a new hobby than now? There are tons of great gardening gifts you can find on Amazon.
This Bonsai Tree Seed Starter Kit will make a unique gift to give any mom, especially one enjoys gardening or who may be stuck inside and looking to try her hand at something new. There is also a helpful video on it’s product page on Amazon that explains how to get started.
This luxurious satin Kimono robe will have your mom looking and feeling like royalty. Let’s face it, most of us have been spending most of our days in our loungewear and most of our robes and pajamas could probably use an upgrade. This Kimono Robe is the perfect way to treat her like the queen she is. This robe would go perfectly with the Spa Gift Basket to really let your mom to be pampered.
Shiatsu Back Shoulder & Neck Massager With Heat – Deep Tissue 3D Kneading Pillow Massager for Neck, Back, Shoulders, Foot, Legs – Electric Full Body Massage – for Home & Car
This gift would be great for anyone who could use a massage to relieve a little stress and tension (oh wait, that’s everyone). New moms tend to experience neck and shoulder pain due to breastfeeding and, you know, from carrying a 15 -20 lb weight(aka baby) around with them everywhere they go. If you can’t give her the gift of a real massage, this is probably the next best thing.
This is such a heartwarming sentimental home decor piece that will be a sweet added touch to any gift you give your mom. There is just nothing like that feeling of home, and the person who gives that house the feeling that it’s home is definitely Mom! You really learn that after you move out on your own and then come back to visit. There’s a lot of things we don’t appreciate about our moms as we are growing up. Take this time to say the things you don’t say enough to your mom. She can display this gift in her house and think of you saying this, even when you aren’t there. It will be a reminder to her that you appreciate all that she has done to make that house into home.
Last but not least, when in doubt, there’s always a gift card. Like I said earlier, gift cards are actually my favorite gifts to receive. Here I chose to highlight Ulta and JoAnn gift cards because my mother-in-law loves those places and there is no way I could actually buy her whatever she wanted from those stores. However, I know that she enjoys shopping there. Now is definitely the time to be doing online shopping, so if you know a store your mom loves, get her a gift card! She can treat herself to a little retail therapy. Amazon has gift cards for almost anywhere. So really, there is just no reason that you can’t click on any of these links and find the perfect gift for your mom.
